You might be new at the University of Georgia, or you might be a veteran who just was never given this memo before. Enterprise Information Technology Services, known colloquially around campus as EITS, is the central IT department at the university. It manages some of the key technology systems and services on campus, such as UGAMail, Athena and eLearning Commons (eLC).
EITS offers a lot of help to students and faculty in the form of tech checklists on their website that are detailed and easy to follow. A new student guide provides information on technology services and resources that EITS can help with. They give information on everything from how to sync UGAMail to your phone, how to sign up for emergency alerts and how to use the cloud-based print kiosks in Athens and the Gwinnett Campus to allow you to pring documents from your computer, phone or tablet. The MyUGA Portal allows you to access all kinds of UGA online services, such as Athena, lynda.com, eLC and Skillsoft. Did you know all these things? If not, check out the EITS website.
Faculty members, you might benefit from taking a look at this EITS page as well, since there is information about voicemail and conference calls, the remote access VPN to allow you to work off campus and how to set up an email address alias.
