UGA’s Master of Education in Reading Education ranked among Best Master’s Programs
Best Value Schools has ranked the University of Georgia’s Mary Frances Early College of Education 12th in their Best Master’s in Education Degree Programs for its Master of Education in Reading Education for 2020.
The Master of Education in Reading Education has a focus on new and digital literacies and is designed for teachers and literacy education professionals. This degree program is offered through the Language and Literacy Education Department
The program aims to educate teachers in ways that advance their students as readers in the broadest sense from printed materials to digital multimedia environments. This M.Ed. is appropriate for teachers working with students from pre-K-12.
In total, UGA offers ten online master’s degree programs in education.
The Best Value Schools website lists the primary reason teachers pursue a master’s degree is because they want to enhance their career prospects. Teachers also mentioned that they pursue the degree to increase their salaries.
“Educators with a master’s degree earn up to several hundred dollars a week more than educators that only have a bachelor’s degree,” according to Best Value Schools’ website.
This program was also ranked #5 by Best College for a Master’s in Reading Education for 2019.
