The Benefits of Online Students Coming to Graduation in Person
Graduation is coming up, and our fall graduates are gearing up for this special day. At UGA Online, we are of the firm opinion that our online students should have the same graduation experience as in-person students. Although the December 16 graduation ceremony will be broadcast live on Channel 15 of the University Cable System and Channel 181 of the Charter Cable System, and streamed live on The University Channel, we would love for you to attend in person. Graduation gear can be purchased easily over the phone or online.
Attending the commencement ceremony in person offers you the opportunity to meet with your virtual classmates and professors, and to experience the pride of graduation with other University of Georgia students. You’re a Dawg, after all, and you deserve the same celebration that all other students receive.
The commencement ceremony for graduate students will be Friday December 16 at 2:30 p.m. in Stegeman Coliseum and the undergraduate ceremony will be at 9:30 a.m. in Stegeman Coliseum. Academic regalia is required for participation in all UGA ceremonies. Students attending classes online or outside of Athens can order academic regalia by calling 706-542-7224. When ordering, be sure to know your height, approximate weight, major and degree. Undergraduates will need to order an additional tassel if you are graduating with honors. Please allow a few weeks for delivery.
