Teacher Appreciation Week
Teacher Appreciation Week
Think back to a person that had an impact on your education at any point in your life. Odds are you have a name and face of a beloved teacher in mind. Whether this is an elementary teacher or a college professor, educators make a lasting impact in the lives of their students. This week, March 6 to March 10, is National Teacher Appreciation Week, so be sure to honor and thank your teachers for all of their hard work!
There are many ways to show appreciation to a current teacher, past teacher, friends and family who are educators, or, if this applies, sending appreciation to your children’s teachers! Tag us and use #ThankATeacher when you thank your UGA online teacher on social and we’ll share your post. Here are just a few more ways to say thank you:
Send a Note
Spelling out your gratitude in a thank you note is a simple and often underrated way to tell someone that all of their hard work does not go unnoticed! If you wanted to spice up the note slip in a $5 card to a coffee shop; teachers are always in need of caffeine!
Give a Gift
A teacher appreciation gift does not need to be extravagant, just send a little token of appreciation in the form of a box of chocolate, mug, or desk supplies. If you know the individual well, feel free to personalize it to his or her taste.
Send School Supplies
At any education level teachers are often left to fill their classrooms with their own supplies, and this can be financially taxing –– especially at an elementary school level –– so send a gift basket with tissues, hand sanitizer, pencils and pens. This will definitely brighten any teachers day and have the added bonus of providing for the students in the classroom as well.
Send a Class Thank You
This especially applies if you have kids in primary school. Attempt to get together with the other parents and go in on one big ‘thank you’ book with handwritten notes from the kids and possibly a class picture. This will be a keepsake they will treasure for years to come. You don’t have to wait until the very end of the year to show appreciation. The class could also come together to purchase a nice gift for the teacher as well.
No matter how you show your appreciation, remember to thank a teacher this week!
