Visit Georgia Museums for Free on Museum Day
Georgia has so much to offer with such a rich history and culture, and you are able to experience it for yourself for free this month in celebration of National Museum Day. Museum Day is an annual celebration originated by the Smithsonian magazine and is celebrated by museums all around the country on September 27. Participating museums and cultural institutions provide free entry to anyone presenting a Museum Day ticket, downloadable on the Museum Day Website. Since money is no obstacle in this scenario, there’s nothing holding you back from diving into a world of art, history, or science.
Of the 1,300 museums participating in this day across the country, there are 31 Georgia museums that will be completely free. A couple of well known Georgia museums like the High Museum and Fernbank have opted not to take part in Museum Day, but there are so many other great options to be explored.
As of now, you can spend your Saturday at:
- Georgia Museum of Art
- Augusta Museum of History
- Marietta Gone With the Wind Museum
- Booth Western Art Museum
- and dozens more!
Take advantage of this amazing opportunity, and be sure to tag us in your pictures if you attend Museum Day! View the Museum Day website for more information and to find museums participating near you.
