Teaching is a calling for me, driven by a passion for sharing knowledge and empowering students to unlock their potential. Witnessing my students evolve into confident, capable professionals is incredibly fulfilling.
I believe that effective teaching starts with creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment. My approach combines real-world examples, interactive tools, and hands-on projects to make statistical concepts approachable and relevant. By fostering critical thinking and collaboration, I aim to empower students to apply their knowledge confidently in professional settings.
I hope students develop not only a solid foundation in data science and statistics in my classes, but also the ability to think critically, analyze data effectively, and communicate their findings to diverse audiences. My goal is to help students develop confidence in their skills, foster curiosity to continue learning, and cultivate an appreciation for how data contributes to solving real-world problems.
Statistics is a field that combines rigor, creativity, and practical application. I am particularly fascinated by how statistical methods can reveal insights that shape decisions in various fields, from science and technology to business and public policy. My primary research focuses on lack-of-fit diagnostics, where I explore methods to assess the adequacy of statistical models in representing data. I am equally passionate about statistics education, dedicating my efforts to developing innovative approaches that enhance understanding and accessibility for diverse learners.
When I’m not immersed in statistics and data science, I enjoy spiking volleyballs, chasing pickleballs, hiking trails that seem like a great idea until halfway up, and running (usually toward snacks). I’m also a self-proclaimed restaurant adventurer, always hunting for the next best bite. Most importantly, I love spending time with my amazing son and my lovely wife, who remind me daily that life is all about balance—like balancing work, play, and keeping up with a toddler on the move!
