I have an international background in pharmacy, nutrition, and aging, and conduct patient-oriented research aimed at understanding and improving disparities in cardiovascular health, interdisciplinary approaches to CVD disease prevention and management at large, and how dietary patterns can prevent cardiovascular conditions and heart failure.

My research methodologies include epidemiological studies and clinical trials. Much of my research has evaluated the effect of mindful eating, healthy eating and mindfulness, exercise, and lifestyle in postmenopausal, breast cancer survivors and how food insecurity is associated with increased cardiovascular risk in US adults. I am also a Fellow of the American Heart Association (FAHA).
