Vocational education should serve the students, and they should be able to transition into a full career of their choice.

Assistant Professor

The unifying theme of my research agenda is the efficacy of secondary and postsecondary career and technical education (CTE) on student achievement and career and transition outcomes from school to work for adolescents.

My research has attempted to determine (a) how young people make career choices, for example, aspirations or career choice patterns; (b) how certain adolescent experiences, including participation in secondary CTE, work experience and inclusive education, influence career development, choice and attainment; and (c) how the risk and resilience framework can advance our understanding of short-term educational outcomes for adolescents with specific learning disabilities or emotional-behavior disorders.
