I believe that the main pillar of teacher quality is a firm foundation in content knowledge. I emphasize to my students that a deep understanding of their core academic areas has an immeasurable impact on student learning. This is the focus of my work in the Improving Teacher Quality office. I center on ensuring students are current in their content areas and providing innovative strategies as well as the skills to successfully incorporate emerging technologies into the classroom.
