Rebecca G. Lieberman-Betz

Professor

Rebecca G. Lieberman-Betz, Ph.D., is a professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Special Education at the University of Georgia. Her work focuses on early childhood special education, with an emphasis on play and communication development in young children with disabilities, including autism. She holds a Ph.D. in Special Education from Vanderbilt University, an M.S. in Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Oregon, and a B.A. in Anthropology from Cornell University. Dr. Lieberman-Betz teaches undergraduate and graduate courses, mentors students, and conducts research on parent-mediated interventions and family-centered practices.
