Dr. Paige Carmichael to Deliver Spring Graduate Commencement Address

Dr. Paige Carmichael, professor of veterinary pathology in the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine and professor in the online Master of Science (M.S.) in Comparative Biomedical Sciences program, will deliver the address at UGA's Spring 2024 Graduate Commencement ceremony on May 8 in Stegeman Coliseum. The master’s and specialist ceremony begins at 10 a.m. with the doctoral ceremony following at 2:30 p.m.

For Anna Herrington, earning a degree from the University of Georgia has always been part of the plan—even if it didn’t happen exactly as she first expected. “As the daughter of two UGA alumni, I bled red and black from birth, and I had always planned to attend UGA, too,” she says. Though she was first accepted in 2002 after high school, life led her elsewhere, and she earned her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Georgia Southern University. Still, she never lost her love for learning—or her dream of becoming a UGA graduate.

Latria Graham Receives 2025 American Mosaic Journalism Prize

UGA Online Programs Ranked Among 2025 Best by U.S. News and World Report

The University of Georgia’s online degree programs are among the nation’s best, according to U.S. News and World Report’s 2025 Best Online Programs rankings released Jan. 21. Several of UGA’s programs placed in the top 10 in the annual survey, which recognizes bachelor’s and master’s degree programs as well as specialties within certain programs. The survey ranks higher education institutions on criteria including engagement, services and technology, faculty credentials and peer assessment.
