77th Annual Peabody Awards

The 77th annual Peabody Awards Ceremony is taking place Saturday, May 19 at 5 p.m. in Cipriani Wall Street, New York City. This annual red-carpet celebration honors the best storytelling in television, radio/podcast and digital media.

The Peabody Awards is housed in the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia. The Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication is one of the top journalism colleges in the country and is known for its academic excellence.

Nate Kohn, the academic associate director for the Peabody Awards is also a professor for Grady’s low-residency master of fine arts in narrative media writing. Dr. Kohn teaches screenwriting, producing for film/television and qualitative methods. His scholarly interests include celebrity, writing for the screen and critical theory.

About the UGA Low-Residency MFA Program

This two-year low-residency program is designed to train writers who will be published and produced. The program offers students an unparalleled opportunity to develop narrative journalism and screenwriting skills that will equip them for long and varied careers. The program features a committed and diverse roster of accomplished authors, screenwriters, literary agents and other industry professionals who work closely with students to inspire and support each writer’s emerging craft and voice.
