Dr. Milewski leads panel at Super South Summit 2025

Dr. Adam Milewski, who teaches in the online M.S. in Environmental Geology program, joined a lineup of leading scientists and policy experts at the 2025 Super South Summit, an event dedicated to accelerating climate action and sustainable innovation across the Southeastern U.S.
As part of the summit’s “H2O” track, which focused on equitable water solutions and watershed restoration, Dr. Milewski participated in a panel titled Scaling Decarbonization: Bridging Innovation, Policy, Investment and Net-Zero Goals. The panel explored the complex challenges of carbon capture and storage (CCS), including technological advances, public perception, regulatory barriers, and workforce readiness.
A professor of Hydrogeology and Remote Sensing and Head of the Department of Geology at UGA, Dr. Milewski brings a wealth of experience to both his research and teaching. He is the president of Geospatial & Hydrologic Services, LLC and serves on the Board of Directors for the U.S. chapter of the International Association of Hydrogeologists. His leadership in the field continues to shape discussions around sustainable water and energy practices, topics deeply embedded in UGA’s online Environmental Geology curriculum.
The Super South Summit, held April 15–17, united global experts across sectors to spark collaboration on climate resilience and circular economy strategies.
