Gifted and Creative Education Ph. D Graduates Honored with Research Award.
Two Graduates from the Gifted and Creative Education Ph.D. program, Dr. Selcuk Acar and Dr. Kristy Kowalske, were selected by the American Creativity Association for the E. Paul Torrance Graduate Student Research award for 2014. This is awarded to graduate students who have completed research study, and demonstrated a unique and significant contribution to the field. They also must prove that they have potential to be a leader in the field of creativity. One of the award recipients, Dr. Selcuk Acar is currently an Assistant Professor at Buffalo State University in New York. Dr. Kristy Kowalske is also a UGA Online graduate and award recipient. She is currently a Teacher of the Gifted at Henderson County Public Schools in North Carolina. Their mentors were the esteemed UGA Online faculty members Mark Runco and Bonnie Cramond.
