Important Dates for Online Students
The start of Fall semester is right around the corner and UGA just released a list of important dates for UGA students. We decided to make that most relevant for you and compiled this list of important dates for online students. It’s not a comprehensive list of everything that may be important, so definitely listen out for dates given to you by your instructors, but it should be a pretty handy list for generally important items we thought you would want to know about.
August 16: Your classes should definitely be viewable on eLC. They might be available before this date, as well, but this is the deadline. If there is a problem, contact your professor for information.
August 17: First day of classes
August 28: Final date for graduate students to submit an application for graduation for December 2015 Graduation.
August 28: Final date for submitting program of study forms to the Graduate School for graduation in December 2015. An approved Advisory Committee form for Master of Arts, Master of Science, and all doctoral candidates must be on file by this date.
September 05: First football game vs. University of Louisiana-Monroe, at noon. It’s a home game at our very own Sanford Stadium, so if you’re looking for an event to see how Dawg Nation does football and pride, consider a trip to Athens.
September 07: Labor Day holiday. Sleep in.
September 20: Performing Arts Center’s 20th season opening concert, at 3 p.m. at the Hugh Hodgson Concert Hall. The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Atlanta Symphony Chorus will be performing, so it will be positively lovely.
October 06: Fall Semester Midterm. Of course, check with your individual programs for specific dates.
October 16: Final date for submitting requests for transfer of credit, with accompanying transcripts, to the Graduate School for students graduating in December 2015.
October 17: Homecoming football game vs. Missouri at Sanford Stadium. It’s going to be wild!
October 22: Withdrawal deadline for Fall semester.
October 30: Fall Break. Sleep in.
November 5-14: Spotlight on the Arts festival. More information will be available soon, so check the Art at UGA website closer to the date if you are interested.
November 23-27: Thanksgiving Break
December 08: End of Fall semester classes
December 11: Final date for completing all requirements except submission of thesis/dissertations. The Graduate School must receive all notification concerning removal of incompletes, final examinations, etc. for Fall 2015 graduation. This does not include grades for courses in which students are currently enrolled.
December 18: Graduation at 2:30 p.m. Diplomas will be mailed approximately six to eight weeks after graduation.
