Online Professor Jill Stefaniak Wins 2023 Regents’ Teaching Excellence Award
Jill Stefaniak, the Online M.Ed. Learning, Design, and Technology Master’s Program Coordinator as well as associate professor in the department of workforce education and instructional technology, won the 2023 University System of Georgia’s Regents’ Teaching Excellence Award for online teaching!
Stefaniak is a nationally recognized leader in instructional design. She is also a mentor and advisor to many Learning, Design, and Technology (LDT) students. She is quick to help any student with their research or projects in instructional design. She has been recognized as a true champion for students in LDT. One of her students wrote, “she promotes an atmosphere, even online, where you just want to jump in and participate.”
Her students are not the only ones who notice Stefaniak’s knowledge and dedication. She has won numerous awards over the years. Her most recent achievement was earning the 2022 Best Paper from the American Education Research Association. Additionally, her research has been published in Educational Technology Research and Development journal. She had a paper awarded the Outstanding Design and Development Paper in 2019 by the Association for Education Communications and Technology (you can read the abstract or log in to the library and read the entire article).
