UGA Online Professor Sally Krisel to be President of National Association for Gifted Children in 2017
September 8, 2016Sally Krisel, assistant professor in the Master of Educational Psychology, Gifted and Creative degree program, is slated to be president of the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) Board of Directors in 2017. “NAGC is the leading organization working to make sure that giftedness and high potential in our nation’s youth are fully recognized, universally valued, and actively nurtured,” explained Krisel. In addition to serving as president-elect, Krisel is also the Director of Innovative and Advanced Programs for Hall County Schools in Gainesville, Georgia.

UGA Online Professor Melisa Cahnmann-Taylor Releases New Poetry Book
September 1, 2016Melisa “Misha” Cahnmann-Taylor, like many UGA online faculty members, takes her area of expertise beyond just the virtual classroom. Cahnmann-Taylor, a professor in both the Graduate Certificate in TESOL and the Endorsement in ESOL, recently released a poetry book called “Imperfect Tense,” and was able to present her collection of poetry to a large crowd at Avid Bookshop.

Five faculty members — Charles Platter, Damaris Corrigan, Naomi Norman, Andy Paczkowski and Richard LaFleur — devote their time to the Classical Languages certificate program that is designed to help students reach and exceed advanced levels in Greek and Latin in order to prepare them for graduate study in the various fields of classics.
