UGA Online Team Attends D2L Fusion Conference

Several members of the UGA Online team recently attended the D2L Fusion conference in Savannah, Georgia, joining university teams from across the country to explore new features in Brightspace and exchange ideas on course design, teaching tools, and student engagement.

This year, D2L Fusion was attended by 1500 professionals, and featured over 300 speakers.
Throughout the week, team members connected with colleagues from other institutions and met with D2L representatives to share what’s working, learn from others, and bring fresh ideas back to UGA Online.
James Castle, Associate Director, and Steve Balfour, Director, gave a presentation on how the office is using generative AI to build out course starters directly in Brightspace—a process that helps faculty save time and bring greater consistency to UGA’s online courses.
Work like this is just one example of how UGA Online continues to invest in the tools, knowledge, and collaboration needed to deliver high-quality, learning experiences for online students.
