Virtually Connecting Students to Campus

The COVID-19 pandemic has altered how people are living their day-to-day lives, and this is no exception for the thousands of University of Georgia faculty and students. However, as students have traded in classrooms for their laptops, members of the UGA community are finding unique ways to help connect students to the University of Georgia’s campus virtually. 

Here are some ways students and faculty have adapted to the circumstances.

Zoom meetings and lectures have become the new normal. Spice up your meetings and show your spirit with virtual Zoom backgrounds of UGA’s campus. Swap your home office for Sanford Stadium or North Campus, and share some UGA flavor while at home. 

Sketching UGA

Draw away your stress with online Sketching UGA videos available on Youtube. Professor Amitabh Verma introduces the process and fundamentals of architectural sketching and takes viewers through the process of sketching iconic structures like the UGA Arch and Chapel. 

Well-being Resources

UGA’s Well-being Resources include a broad range of clinical and non-clinical programs and services to promote student well-being and success. Including the departments of Student Care and Outreach, the Disability Resource Center, Testing Services, Recreational Sports, and the University Health Center (which also includes Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS), Health Promotion, Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention (RSVP), and the Fontaine Center), in addition to well-being partnerships with units across campus, this initiative offers digital, virtual, and in-person engagement and services to support students’ physical, social, financial, community, and career well-being needs. Visit well-being.uga.edu for more information!

If you are missing campus or are a fully online student, get connected to campus and learn the history behind some of the University’s most famous landmarks and buildings with a virtual walking tour of UGA available on Youtube. 

UGA Online Student Resources

UGA Online has created several Youtube playlists full of student resources and tips to enhance students’ online learning experience. The Youtube channel also features a wide array of videos featuring advice from Professors and information on how these professors have adapted their courses to teaching online.
