UGA Online provides access to support, resources, and continuity that benefit all students learning online.

Academic Resources

UGA Writing Center

Meet with a writing consultant from the Jill and Marvin Willis Center for Writing. They will discuss up to five pages of graduate-level writing in a session.

Services are free, available to all UGA writers and recent alums, and are offered online through Zoom or written feedback. Hours of operation are posted in the Location section under “ONLINE”.

UGA Libraries Online

UGA’s Libraries offer digital access to many journals, have a process to deliver materials to you in the United States, and have a chat feature to help you.

UGA Mentor Program

The UGA Mentor Program provides an opportunity for students to search and request an experienced UGA alumni mentor using a variety of search criteria, including identity, industry, and more! Finding a UGA mentor narrows down the world of possibilities to help you create meaningful connections.

UGA ID Card Benefits

Having a student ID can provide numerous benefits, such as access to professional conferences and discounts on shopping, events, activities, and programs. Many businesses offer student discounts, allowing you to receive a reduced price or even free product or service just by showing your student ID. You can order your UGA OneCard online.


Career Center

The UGA Career Center prepares UGA students and alumni for meaningful opportunities after the Arch through career exploration and decision-making, job search skill development, experiential learning, career employment, employer relations, university partnerships, mentorship, and more.

The UGA Career Center hosts a range of events that are clearly marked as virtual or in-person. These events include career fairs, presentation on tips during a career search, career skill building, and diversity events. Resume & Cover Letter Services

The UGA Career Center provides an abundance of application materials to support you in your career journey. With access to resume templates and examples of effective email correspondence, you can feel confident in crafting materials that set you apart from other candidates by emphasizing your unique skill sets and highlighting how they align with the job description. UGA students are also given access to Quinncia, an interactive AI platform designed to help optimize your resume for Applicant Tracking Systems and provide tailored mock interviews and personalized engagement tools.

Interview Preparation 

The UGA Career Center offers numerous interview preparation resources, including advice on attire and strategies for acing interviews. Practicing before your actual interview is essential, and you can do so by taking advantage of the UGA Big Interview Platform, which is available 24/7, or by scheduling a virtual mock interview appointment with one of our Career Consultants.

Asynchronous Professional Document Review Services

The UGA Career Center offers asynchronous professional document review services for graduate and professional students. You can submit your resume, cover letter, and other professional documents or sample job posting for review.

Looking for a job or internship can seem overwhelming, but the UGA Career Center offers a variety of job search resources to make the process easier.

Wellbeing & Disability Support

Well-Being Resources

UGA offers virtual as well as residential well-being resources that include a broad range of clinical and non-clinical programs and services. UGA offers a peer-support platform, virtual counseling services for students, and more.

Student Care & Outreach

UGA understands that online students may encounter life situations and hardships that affect their ability to stay in school. If you experience significant personal hardship (e.g., medical or family emergency, prolonged illness), you can request a hardship withdrawal from all courses in the term from Student Care and Outreach.

Accessibility and Testing Resources

We are committed to providing equal educational opportunities and a welcoming environment for all students with disabilities. To request services and learn what documentation you will need to provide, visit the Accessibility and Testing Resource or call 1 (706) 542-8719. Once you have registered for services, the Disability Resource Center will ensure that the necessary technology and accommodations are made for you.


Veterans Resources

Military, Veterans and Dependents

The University of Georgia is recognized for its commitment to providing veterans and their families the unique support they need. We understand that your path to choosing an online program might be different than your civilian counterparts.

UGA offers service members, veterans, and their families access to flexible, convenient degree programs and courses delivered online. If you are an online student veteran, active duty military, reservist or military dependent, the Student Veterans Resource Center (SVRC) can ease your transition to UGA. 

SVRC advocates for and provides numerous services to student veterans, including mentoring and career connections.

Technical Support

Software

UGA students are encouraged to utilize the MyUGA Online Portal, which provides access and links to UGA online services, such as Athena, UGAMail, Degreeworks, Handshake, and more.

Online students commonly use programs like Zoom, Microsoft 365, and Adobe Creative Suite. For assistance regarding software set-up and troubleshooting, please visit Tools for Working and Learning Remotely page from EITS (Enterprise Information Technology Services).

Email

All UGA faculty, staff and students have an account for UGAMail, the University-provided email service powered by Microsoft’s Office 365. You can access UGAMail on the web, through the UGA Mobile App or by configuring a desktop client or app on your phone to access your account. Log in with your full email address. Your password is your MyID password. If you are off-campus, you will need to verify your login with ArchPass, powered by Duo.

If you do not yet have a UGA email address, please follow EITS’s instructions for setting up your UGA MyID.

Student Complaints Procedures

The University of Georgia seeks to resolve concerns and complaints in a fair and prompt manner. Reports involving allegations of harassment and/or discrimination that fall within the University of Georgia Non-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy should be reported directly to UGA’s Equal Opportunity Office.

Academic Complaints

If you have an academic complaint about a faculty member or program, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact the academic department of the faculty member or program with your complaint. If you need any help filing your complaint, please contact us at online@uga.edu and we will help you.
  2. If you do not get satisfactory resolution by contacting the department, please contact the School or College. We will also help you if you need help with this step.
  3. Should no satisfactory resolution be available through the given School or College, please submit a complaint to UGA Student Affairs via this page.
  4. After exhausting all available grievance procedures at UGA, you may file a complaint with the State of Georgia via GA-SARA using this information and link. Citizens of California can initiate a complaint with the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education
