Director, Langdale Center for Forest Business
I’m passionate about efficiency, optimization, and the natural resource environment. Forestry and environmental business combine these areas in a way that excites me. I want to see forest products used wisely and sustainably while generating profit for everyone, from small landowners to large corporations. By making forestry both economical and sustainable, we ensure that our nation’s forests remain forests for generations to come and our environment and natural resources are protected.
I love working with students and watching them grow into confident leaders in forestry and natural resources. Our students are intelligent, thoughtful, and full of passion for their fields. Teaching gives me the opportunity to help shape the next generation of professionals who will make a real impact.
My teaching philosophy centers on developing critical thinking skills. I believe students should learn to balance multiple demands within business and make informed decisions that consider both economic and environmental factors.
I hope students leave my class with the ability to evaluate big-picture business decisions, manage projects efficiently, and appreciate the importance of relationships and emotional intelligence in leadership. When they succeed in management, their projects and companies thrive, which leads to success in their careers and them contributing positively to environmental stewardship.

Our graduate-level forest business programs combine a practical blend of advanced forestry courses with MBA level courses. The program is designed to help students develop the necessary skills for positions of leadership in forest operations management, timberland investing, or education in the private or public sector.
