This year’s Online Learning Fellows (OLF) Program, offered through the Office of Online Learning, will focus on course scale, quality and sustainability for a select number of high-demand online courses.  The objective of this year’s program is to expand enrollment opportunities to UGA students in these high-demand courses, while at the same time maintaining or improving course quality.

“Our focus for the OLF program has shifted this year now that UGA’s portfolio of online courses has reached a sustainable level.  Whereas before we were focusing heavily on developing new courses, we now have an opportunity to invest resources towards scalability and continuous quality improvement,” explained Flint Buchanan, UGA Instructional Designer.

During Fall 2016, the Office of Online Learning’s team of instructional designers will work closely with the schools and colleges to determine the best approach for scaling the courses as well as to conduct a comprehensive quality design review of each offering. These efforts will result in the development of a project plan in coordination with the faculty. In Spring 2017, the Online Learning Fellows faculty will participate in the execution of the project plan.

The Office of Online Learning has analyzed historic and current enrollment data for all online courses at UGA and identified potential online courses and faculty to participate in the 2017 OLF program. This program is intended to be highly collaborative between the Office of Online Learning’s Instructional Design Team and participating faculty.
