Caree Cotwright, Community Nutrition Faculty, named a 2024 President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition Hero awardee
Congratulations to the UGA Department of Nutritional Sciences‘s Caree Cotwright, who has been named a 2024 President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition Hero awardee. The President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition (PCSFN) is a federal advisory committee that aims to promote healthy eating and physical activity for all people, regardless of background or ability.
The Hero Award celebrates high profile individuals who champion sports, physical activity, fitness, or nutrition and amplify messages that support the Council’s mission to broad audiences. This year’s award honors 7 individuals aside from Cotwright:

Cotwright is an instructor in the College of Family and Consumer Science‘s online M.S. in Nutritional Sciences – Community Nutrition program and currently serves as Director of Nutrition Security and Health Equity at USDA.
The online M.S. in Nutritional Sciences – Community Nutrition program is currently accepting applications for the Spring 2025 semester until October 15, 2024.
