FACS Awards Recognize Online M.S. in Nutritional Sciences Faculty

Three faculty members from the online Master of Science in Nutritional Sciences – Community Nutrition program were recently recognized by the UGA College of Family and Consumer Sciences for their outstanding contributions to outreach, research, and student mentorship.

Dr. Kris Ingmundson and Tracey Brigman received the Dr. Chris Todd Outstanding Outreach Award as part of the National Center for Home Food Preservation team, honored for their innovative and impactful outreach work. Their efforts support public health and food safety by making evidence-based home food preservation resources widely accessible.
Dr. Sina Gallo, Associate Professor in Nutritional Sciences, was recognized with the Faculty Mentoring Undergraduate Research Award. This award highlights her consistent and meaningful involvement with undergraduate researchers, offering them opportunities for hands-on experience and academic growth.
These awards reflect their deep commitment to teaching, outreach, and mentorship—not only within the classroom, but across their communities and throughout the broader learning environment.
