MFA Student Pete Stone Found the Perfect Fit in the Low-Residency Screenwriting Program
The low-residency MFA program at Grady College began in the fall of 2015 and has had a very successful start. There are two tracks one can choose from once admitted into the program: narrative nonfiction or screenwriting. Pete Stone, an English teacher and video production company owner from Chester, S.C., is a student in the screenwriting program. Stone spoke with Grady College about his experiences in the program and had many positive things to say.
Stone started in medical school, but realized he wanted to pursue his passion in filmmaking. Since he knew he needed to work while in school, UGA’s low-residency MFA program is perfect for him and “satisfies my educational, artistic, financial, and professional needs all in one, which is exactly what I was looking for in an MFA program,” according to Stone. In the interview, Stone admitted he felt like the program was so perfect for him that it seemed designed specifically for him!
