Online Comparative Biomedical Sciences Student Nominated as NCAA Woman of the Year

NCAA Woman of the Year Award nominee Callie Dickinson was recently named one of the national Top 30 honorees for the award. The pool of candidates originated with 619 nominees. This year’s honorees represent 15 sports.

From the Top 30, the selection committee will narrow the candidates to nine finalists, three honorees from each NCAA division. The NCAA Woman of the Year 2023 winner will be announced in January in Phoenix, Arizona.

University of Georgia swimmer and alumna of the Online Master of Comparative Biomedical Sciences program was recently named one of two student-athletes selected by the Southeastern Conference as a nominee for the 2023 NCAA Woman of the Year Award.

This award recognizes distinguished female student-athletes who have excelled in academic achievement, athletic excellence, community service and leadership. The selection committee identifies the top 30 nominees –10 from each NCAA division. Dickinson is the 17th Georgia swimmer to be nominated by the university. The winner is to be announced in January.

Some of Dickinson’s many accomplishments include being named a Presidential Scholar three times, being named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll all five seasons she swam and competing and making it to finals at two Olympic Trials. Read the full story to learn more about this amazing scholar-athlete.

Dickinson intends to pursue a career as an orthopedic surgeon having completed her master’s degree in Comparative Biomedical Sciences in August 2023.
